My Journey to Paganism

I discovered Paganism as a sophomore in high school in 1991. Until then, I was only vaguely aware that there were any religious that didn't involve worshiping Jesus. The discovery that there was more in the world than the blind dogma of the churches I had been dragged to in childhood was like the lifting of massive weights from my back. I believe that the Gods gave us minds for a reason: if we would honor the Gods, we should use them.

I began as a student of Wicca, but I found over time that Wicca was becoming too dogmatic. My studies have included Discordianism, Tai Chi, Kitchen Witchery, Folk Magic, Feng Shui, and Shamanism. I have been a practicing Pagan for nearly two decades. Although I was initiated by a former member of the As Always Coven in (Tampa FL), I have always been a Solitary. I have moderated on two online Discordian forums, I am a Second Level Reiki Practitioner and I hold a Black Belt in Korean Karate.

I also have an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, which really doesn't mean much except that I know how to navigate the educational system. I don't have any degrees in Religion, because I won't hold a degree that has no meaning: I have not had sufficient access to a reputable college that offers a major in "new" religions. I have been a registered minister with Universal Ministries since 1994.

Me (Left) and my wife Raven (right)My wife of one year, handfasted of six years and eternal soulmate is Raven. Raven is an intuitive reader, and learned magic from her Native American grandmother. She has help me learn more about magic than I ever could have without her. She is the also most beautiful being living on the Earth. Our cat, however, says that he is the most beautiful creature on Earth. Our ferret just doesn't care.

Most of my life has been spent in cities. I lived in Florida until 2009 when I moved to Wisconsin. Let me say that living in Florida does not give one a proper understanding of seasonal changes! After surviving winter in the Midwest, I have a deeper appreciation than ever of the meaning of the Wheel of the Year!

I really don't know what else to say about myself ... if there is anything specific you would like to know (about me, the website or anything else), feel free to Ask Me! (No Stalkers Please)
