As Above So Below

"As Above So Below" is a key element of Pagan belief. In its simplest form, this simply means that behavior of the gods effect humans on earth. This is the reason that mythologies reflect the culture that believes in them.

For pagans, this mean, among other things, that

• As the God and Goddess are equals, men and women are equal, and
• As the God dies and is reborn, so are people reincarnated.

But, as with many "simple" Pagan beliefs, there is a deeper meaning to this phrase. Pagans believe in magic and in the ability of humans to affect the universe as a whole. With this understood, a new level of meaning becomes attached to this belief. Just as the God/desses affect men and women, men and women effect the God/desses. And all of this effects everything in between the two.

Rather than just heaven and earth, the Pagan universe in the Wolf and Raven Tradition is one of circles within circles. As with so many things, the universe is driven by dynamic balances.

This balance begins with the center of yourself, the very core of your being from which all your feelings, thoughts and actions arise. You core beliefs shape your words and actions, which shape the way the world around you behaves in suble ways.

The world around you, in turn, shapes your actions and thoughts, which cause slow changes in your core being. These effects ripple outward and back inward, slowly but certainly changing the universe.
